The Barbara Chatfield Award for Academic Achievement honors students with cystic fibrosis who are followed by the Adult or Pediatric Intermountain CF Center and pursue their dreams of higher education.

Individual awards will range from $250 to $500 depending on number of recipients selected.

A total of $2500 is available to be awarded.

2021 eligibility criteria

(prior awardees are not eligible)

  • Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and currently followed by the Intermountain Pediatric or Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center

  • Graduated high school

  • Attending or accepted into an institution of higher education in Fall 2021 (college, university, community college, trade school)

Selection of award recipients

  • Must meet all criteria listed above and application received by June 30, 2021.

  • Selection of award recipients will be based upon careful review of the responses submitted on the application form.

  • The family of Barbara Chatfield will be responsible for selection of award recipients.

  • Recipients of the award will be notified by October 31, 2021.

  • Proof of attendance to an institution of higher education for the Fall 2021 semester/quarter will be requested prior to distribution of the award.
